Add Slow Motion with YouTube Video Tools

It's easy to add slow motion effects to your videos using YouTube. Once your video has been uploaded, you can do this through the YouTube Video Manager or YouTube Video Editor. Watch this short video above (1:05) or follow the instructions below to learn how.

YouTube Video Manager

To access the Video Manager, first go to www.youtube.com.
  1. Select the drop-down next the Upload button.
  2. Click Video Manager.
  3. Find the video you'd like to modify.
  4. Select the drop-down next to the Edit button.
  5. Click Enhancements.
Use the Turtle icon to apply slow motion at the location and speed you like. Once you're finished, click Save.

YouTube Video Editor

You can also apply slow motion using the YouTube Video Editor. You can access this at youtube.com/editor. In your video editor project.
  1. Find the video clip you want to slow down in the timeline.
  2. Click the Effects icon to open the Effects dialog box.
  3. Click the check box next to Slow Motion to enable this feature.
You can select the speed you want in the drop-down box. Once you're finished, click Done.
